This movie will likely turn off 90% of the world due to the straight forward make-out sessions of a bunch of dudes who are anything but straight. So if you think there's no way for you to overcome that, maybe you'll need to figure out if you are a homophobe, and then watch something that's way more macho like Rambo. But if you have an open mind, then get ready for an amazing biopic -- Milk-- about a gay man who starts the gay movement by way of running for public office in San Francisco, and winning!
It is really an inspiring movie with Sean Penn in the lead (who totally, for lack of a better word, nails the character... he even looks just like him) and will likely be collecting an Oscar and possibly HIV along the way (lighten up... it's just a joke). His political message of "Hope" and his fight for placing a minority into a public office is eerie and relevant. His grass roots marketing tactics are scrappy. But the tragedy of what happens along the way is horrific, and if you are not fully aware of the historical account, I would recommend watching it with virgin eyes.
FilmBender is Funny Movie Reviews. The accomplished director, Gus Van Sant, helps bring this movie out of the closet and into the main stream. It's amazing. I just hope we are all ready for it. (I have to admit that even I snickered when I saw that kid, Lucas Grabeel from High School Musical, in this movie [who's obviously playing for the other team in real life].)
