Speaking of perverts... maybe Roman Polanski is one. And yes, he certainly partied with a 13-year-old girl and penetrated her in more ways than one (so the court records state). But man... this guy has had it tough. In the documentary, Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired, you hear a pretty unbiased version of the story, and after watching it, you'll walk away sympathetic for this guy and hating the Santa Monica Judge who tried his case -- what a f-ing media whore and power hungry d*ckhead that Judge Larry Paul Fidler was... he should be sodomized.
I'll let you watch the film to get the drift of what that f*ck did, but in the meantime, while you are contemplating and sentencing Roman yourself, know that interviews with the victim (Samantha Geimer who has forgiven him as an adult) and with various Hollywood elite such as Mia Farrow and Robert Towne paint a bit of a different picture than the trail that Roman left for most of us while he fled to France. Watch the movie trailer and read on because...
FilmBender is Funny Movie Reviews. Poor Roman lost his pregnant wife -- who was certainly one of the absolute hottest babes to ever grace the planet -- Sharon Tate to the Manson slayings, and the guy didn't have the fortnate upbringing that Beaver Cleaver had, and possibly he is from a country that had more liberal ideals when it comes to sex and age; so while I can say that the double-breasted clad visionary filmmaker should be punished for taking advantage of a 13-year-old, I don't blame him for running, and I think you'll find that justice over the decades since has likely been served. Watch and judge for yourself.
I'm sure there were plenty of people who had family die in the holocaust and various other wars, and who had their pregnant wives murdered, who didn't go around raping little girls.
Haven't seen the movie, but given what little I've heard so far about the misconduct of the Judge, it's the kind of misconduct I (as of yet) have no problem with. I don't like plea agreements that turn a putatively serious crime with serious time into a slap on the wrist for anyone except those turning "state's evidence" for even worse crimes.

Thoughtful comment appreciated. Agree that drugging and *ss raping a 13-year-old deserves harshest penalty. Tough to single Roman out when all these deals happen every day from crooked judges, and this one is the worst. Ironically, Roman may end up having all the bad luck he's had, plus the fact that he exiled himself and still may come to see harsh penalty. Too bad the judge is the only one who doesn't get f*cked.
