You know when you were in college (or in high school) and partying. ;) You start laughin' until you actually wheeze and ultimately stop breathing and literally faint. Same thing happens when you watch Tommy Boy.
I do have to complain about one part though. I don't laugh when Chris Farley's character crashes a toy model car and lights it on fire. I also didn't laugh in the opening scene of the movie when Farley's (Tommy's) dad, Brian Dennehy, drops dead. That kind of surprised me for some reason. Choked up a bit. Seems to somehow get me teary-eyed every time I see it. Of course, I tell everyone at the end of the movie "I was cryin' it was so funny."
I guess that's half the truth, and any salesman will tell ya that's generally good enough. But not for Tommy Boy, this great movie's namesake, he sells with honesty and trust to try and turn around the mood of the movie and the company he inherited, Callahan Auto in Sandusky, Ohio (home of Cedar Point but not much else). Saw someone today wearing one of those "vintage" shirts for this company -- not that I think it exists, but the shirt reminded me how much I love this movie. I grinned. Then I thought of Rob Lowe and David Spade's character and the fact that Bo Derek is in the movie. I smiled. And then obviously the gullible, overweight, slapstick and heroic character Farley nails once again. I chuckled. Then I recalled he drops dead too. Frown.

This was a funny movie, great movie too I liked it. I don't have a dvd copy of this movie though I usually see it on HBO.
