Circa 1991 in Los Angeles, I turned on the TV and stumbled upon a low-budget variety show that had some guest on named Kenneth Keith Kallenbach. He had a mullet and sounded like he was the product of some Kentucky siblings, and his "talent" further supported such an observation; he started out threading his necklace into his nostril and coughed it out of his mouth, and he followed that performance by dragging a cigarette and attempting to blow smoke out of his eye sockets. I don't believe he was successful in that stunt, but Kenneth Keith blew chunks tryin'.
Such is the world of radio shock jock Howard Stern who dominated local radio in Manhattan among other cities and ultimately network radio with his lesbian guests, outrageous game shows, scatological humor and straight talking interviews with the bravest of the A-list. Now he's on satellite radio -- seriously saving the underdog, Sirius, first and then practically spearheading the merger with the leader, yet also failing, XM. As some of you may know, the self-proclaimed "King of All Media" had that TV show ["the Channel 9 Show"] that scarred my youth, a pay-per-view New Year's special, then an interview show on E!, followed by a sitcom on E!, and two auto-biographical books, one of which, was adapted into a theatrical release, called Private Parts. Meanwhile, basically every single one of these media ventures topped its respective top ten list. Long live The King.
Crazy thing is, I've yet to tell you anything about the movie. It chronicals everything leading up to all this sh*t. Anyway, the film is hilarious and well done. And, Howard even does an incredible job playing himself as well (some say that's hardest performance to tackle... I say that's an f-ing st*pid thing to say, but who cares, again, he's great). I'm biased since I've been listening to Howard, Robin, Gary, Fred, Artie [and Jackie] and their Whack Pack group of friends for nearly two decades; but the film also stars Paul Giamatti and Mary McCormack and was produced by Ivan Reitman, so you can at least expect the production quality to be a couple of notches above the day when I first discovered them from that hurlarious stupid human trick from his debut syndicated TV show.

Of course Howard is far from perfect... the film is largely about his unwavering commitment to his wife, but he's since divorced and married a super model named Beth Ostrosky. Whatever. The King shall have his cake and eat it her too. (F*ck. My reviews keep getting longer.) Make Howard proud... watch it while you're gettin' a blumpkin. Enjoy.

Howard Stern is hilarious. I agree with you, he's great. I didn't know he had a movie, but i can't wait to see it
