Ok... I'll say it. I'm f-ed up. Not hammered. Just f-ing f-ed up. Twisted. I just watched 17 movies back to back. Sure, went to the bathroom. Ate chips (vinegar and sea salt). Had a beer or two. Napped during the bad movies. Blogged about the good ones. Just a total f-nut.
But I'm not nearly as whack as each and every single member of the Crumb family. I mean... sh*t. So Crumb -- the documentary about the early 70's cartoonist famous for the "Keep on truckin'" illustration, phrase, strip, t-shirt, bumper sticker and whatever -- is incredible. Maybe you haven't seen the movie, but you've definitely seen his work or his legacy in other's work.
Anyway, the guy is a totally crazy (for real), nerdy (for real), genius (for real), and cool (for certain) cat. But crazy. And his brother is 100% clinical... living with with mom at 40-ish (again, for real). Not sure how cool he really is/was, but he's everything else. Literally drawing cartoons himself on the walls and in volumes upon volumes of notebooks of funked-out comic strips with the written storyline and the dialog and the everything else. Great movie. Texture, heart, art and f*rt. Real life. You'll see what I mean.
FilmBender is Funny Movie Reviews. Wait 'til you get inside this guy's life... could drive a man to binge on anything -- even movies and potty mouth.
